On-Site Pastel Workshop
Having taught for over 35 years, I offer customized one or two-day workshops for groups, organizations, schools, and other institutions. Classes are geared for adults or secondary school level students. Each workshop includes:
Pastel Introduction & Demonstration
- Demonstration of basic soft pastel techniques, papers, and supports used
- Brief discussion of the history of pastels, their use, and renowned artists who have worked in pastel
- Still life set up is provided for the students
- Individual help and attention
Student Materials List (subject to change):
- Set of soft pastels per student or may be shared (good quality if possible)
- 1 sheet of medium gray Canson Mi-Tientes pastel paper (full sheet measures 19 x 25")
- Drawing board with clamps to hold paper
- Newsprint and several sheets ë to pad drawing board if board is rough
- Easel for students to work on, if available
- 1 stick soft vine charcoal
- 1 kneaded eraser
