Pastels I – Introduction to Drawing and Color Concepts

Note: Class dates can be flexible if you prefer a Sunday or even a weekday, minimum of two people.

Soft pastel workshop for beginners in drawing and pastel. However, any skill level welcome. Students will work from a still-life set-up that Barbara prepares.
What you will learn:
- Short history of pastels and famous pastellists
- Basic drawing techniques
- Types of paper and supports used
- Basic color concepts used in all art media
Easels, drawing boards, paper and drawing materials supplied. If you already have a set of soft pastels, please bring them with you. The more color choices you have, the better.
Class size is limited to four people so you will receive lots of personal instruction. Barbara will demonstrate using pastels, discuss famous pastel artists, composition, color usage and much more!
