As the old mother tree slowly loses upper branches and leaves, sunlight is able to penetrate below the canopy to assure growth in young seedlings. The mother tree knows her offspring and delivers needed nutrients through their root systems.
In Japan, it is a cultural practice to take regular walks in the forest for relaxation, contemplation and to sooth the soul.
It is scientifically proven that trees communicate with each other by means of chemical signals that are facilitated by the extensive network of fungi underground in a symbiotic relationship.
