40 Years of Making Art! Retrospective sale!

Barbara first showed her work at an art fair in 1976 and is still making art forty years later! Come and join the celebration during the Lawrence ArtWalk, Oct. 22 & 23, at The Creative Hand Studio.

Featured works include pieces from Barbara's earlier Water Lily Series and Secret Poems Series, as well as artworks from her recent and ongoing Moon Series and All About Water Series.

In commemoration of a lifetime of work, Barbara is offering selected discounts of 10% to 40% off!

Stories to Tell - Photography from the Soul of Europe

Tom Schmiedeler will also be exhibiting his new photographic series based on his recent trip to Europe. Continually intrigued by the mystifying facets of geography, Tom aims to capture a moment in time that best expresses the essence of a place and the lives of its people.

Transmissions from Bone House

Stephen Bunch has published a new book of poetry with Barbara's artwork on the cover! Parallel realities swirl and fold together, flowing in a poetic exit from deep inside the Bone House. Don't miss his book signing at The Creative Hand Studio during this year's ArtWalk.

Artwalk time and dates are:

Saturday, October 22: 10am-6pm
Sunday, October 23: Noon-6pm

Book signing: Saturday and Sunday, 1-4pm

For more information and directions, see the Lawrence ArtWalk website or contact Barbara at

Hope to see you there!

About the Art

A painter for many years, I have always been captivated by the beauty of the land and our place in it. Drawing upon the history of ancient cultures, my art weaves together the textures of old and new, time and place, the conscious and unconscious.

Finding inspiration in nature, I have incorporated it into my works using a variety of media and techniques, from pastels, acrylics, oils, lithography, and mono-prints to collages of natural objects.

My work, whether a simple landscape or an intricate collage, strives to connect us to the land, our history, and most importantly, ourselves.

What collectors are saying...

“I love Barbara's work because it comes from a place of deep experience . . . the work is inspirational, grounding, and has a complexity which makes it never boring hanging on the wall, even years later. I find it evocative and healing.”

Rita Stucky, Psychologist
