About the Artist
I formerly lived in Salina for many years where
I was the Exhibition Designer/Registrar for the Salina Art Center
and also operated a studio, The Upstairs Gallery, with two other
artists in downtown Salina.
I currently live near Lawrence, Kansas with my
husband, Tom Schmiedeler, where I work and teach art classes in
my studio. I also work for KU Continuing Education as a program
manager and teach drawing classes for the OSHER Lifelong Learning
Institute.

What collectors are saying...
“I love Barbara's work because it comes from
a place of deep experience . . . the work is inspirational, grounding,
and has a complexity which makes it never boring hanging on the wall,
even years later. I find it evocative and healing.”
— Rita Stucky, Psychologist
